The VSBC-6872 is a sophisticated and flexible telecom product from the ACTIS Computer PowerQUICC II product line.
This computer board is based on the MPC8270 from MOTOROLA (PowerQUICC II). This processor is rated up to 855 MIPS @ 450 MHz and includes a very efficient SDRAM controller. One of the key feature of this device is to include a Quad Integrated Communications Controller (QUICC). This QUICC is implemented on several products in the Motorola embedded processor family. It provides an dedicated module containing RISC CPU and DMA channels for handling very efficiently a wide range of communications protocols.
The VSBC-6848 VME Single Board Computer establishes a new standard of quality and performance for a really attractive price !
With a third generation low dissipation PowerQUICC II running at 400 MHz with only 1.5 Watt, this new VME board will be the perfect replacement solution for all older VME boards designed around 68k and PowerPC 603/604 processors now in End of Life from MOTOROLA Computer Group.
After the original PowerQUICC II 8260 at 200 MHz in 2001, and the improved 8270 at 450 MHz last year, ACTIS engineers are proud to announce their first PowerQUICC III VME Single Board Computer designed with a 8560 processor running at 833 MHz and offering performance of 1’926 MIPS (Dhrystone 2.1).
This new VME board is compliant with the VME rev. C legacy standard, doesn’t require the new VME bus extension (5 row connectors, P0, 3.3V supply) and is therefore FULLY compatible with all existing VME backplanes. The VSBX-6560 is the perfect replacement solution for all existing VME CPU boards from Motorola which are now in EOL because of the RoHs specifications.
Note: this product is not recommended for new designing, please use the suggested alternative reference VSBC-6872.
